Dulaang Kalay presents “La Familia Peratedes”

            The prodigal son of the family Peratedes, an upper middle class family, Erik, returns for the wake of his youngest brother, Alfredo. The death in which, he was responsible of. Due to the hate and resentment of the family, he runs away from home and tries to leave behind the people that he once called, family. Over time, the absence of the youngest son becomes the strong force that pulls the family secrets into the open. And one by one, the family begins to realize how difficult it is to understand what a family should do and what each of them have to contribute to their own sufferings. 

            In its season finale for its first year, Dulaang Kalay ends with a tragic drama written by Victorio Concepcion that talks about how a family struggles to cope between acceptance, forgiveness, love, hare and deceit amidst the aftermath of the death in the family. The play is top billed by theater luminary and GMA actress Mosang, Amihan Ruiz (Blue Rep’s Hair, Tangahalang Ateneo’s Walang Sugat, PHSA’s Ang Unang Aswang ni Rody Vera, ACASIA and UMAK: Commission for the Arts’ Kaharian ng Araw), Jules dela Paz (Dulaang UP’s Shock Value and Rizal X, Dulaang Kalay’s Series Finale: Saan Hahantong Ang Tagpong Ito?!), Dusty Suarez (Gantimpala Theater Foundation’s Noli Me Tangere) with some of the most promising young theater actors today under Dulaang Kalay’s Harry David in his first directing project. 

      “La Familia Peratedes” runs for only a limited time from March 2, 2012 (4PM & 6:30PM) until March 3, 2012 (4PM & 7PM), at the Fourth Floor Auditorium of Kalayaan College, #22 Manga Road, Corner Aurora Boulevard, New Manila, QC.
